Im stuck at this spot in Jak 2, tips and hints please?

after everyone gets captured and Torn says its probablly suicide, where you rescue jak's friends in the fortres and i just keep dying!!!i'd be willing to use a cheat at this point!!!!!!!!!!ugh!
