Softball Bat vs Baseball Bat...Why does one hit the ball farther?

Yeah, it's impossible to swing exactly the same every time. Also, the bats were built meant to hit their certain ball. If you hit a baseball with a golf driver the ball won't go anywhere, even though golf travel hundreds of yards (hopefully) with a good hit.
