Sharm el Sheik Egypt in January 2011?

Thinking of going to Egypt late January 2011. What's the weather like at this time of year and anybody recommend good hotel. Have been looking at Sonesta Hotel, Novotel Beach, Sunrise Island View Resort and Dreams. Never been to Egypt so any info would be helpful. Not sure if AI or HB better option. Don't need luxury but needs to be clean, good food and pleasant staff. Been to Turkey lots of times so want to enjoy Egypt as much as Turkey. Its special birthday and anniversary in January 2011 so want a bit of sun at a realistic price. Any other options would be great but dont want flight of 10+ hours. Ta much
