What type of paint is best to use if i am trying to recreate the look of starry night?

I have to do a project in my art appreciation cl where i have to recreate a famous piece of art, but because i have never painted before my professor told me not to use oil, so what would be the easiest type of paint to use to get the same texture that Van Gogh made?
